Spring = Mud

Kyler finally got to ride his Christmas present today, The Green Machine.  We have had so much snow that today is the first day we could get it out.  Dad and Kyler put it together.

A couple of weeks ago the power went out in our neighborhood.  Rocky Mountain Power knocked on our door at 10:20 PM and said they needed to dig up the power line which happened to be in our yard.  The ground was covered in about 2 feet of snow.  Now we can see the big mess they made.  Our yard is so ugly!

4.0

Kaden got a 4.0 again this trimester making it about the 3rd or 4th trimester in a row.  We are so amazed at how well he is doing and thankful he is taking school seriously and know it will really help in his future education.  I am continually impressed with his motivation and work ethic when it comes to school and running .

Yesterday Kaden and his fellow long distance runners were running on Main Street in Brigham and a boy, (Ethan Merideth)  just a few seconds in front of  Kaden was hit by a truck.  Luckily he is okay but the driver did not stop!  And none of the kids thought to get the license plate number.  He was crossing the street on a cross walk by Smiths.

Dinosaur Museum

Shanee, Kyler and Talmage went to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point.  We met Grandma Harris there.  Kyler has been wanting to go there for months so on president's day  I decided to take them. Kyler started feeling sick and said his stomach hurt and he had a fever.  It was  sad for him because he didn't feel like walking around anymore.  We only got to stay a couple of hours and had to say good bye to grandma.  He went back to my parents house and had some pain medicine and rested a few hours.  We stopped there again on our way home for about an hour so he could do the things he wanted to do.  He was still sick but the tylenol made him feel so much better.  I didn't want to have to take him back there after paying the money to go!

Kyler is not feeling well!

Darren is sick!  He has been sick for more than 2 weeks now with bronchitis.  He says he feels like he can't get enough air.  When he finally went to the doctor after being sick for a week he had an oxygen test done and he was at 95%. He says he feels easily winded by just a little bit of exertion.  So this has been really hard for him.  He hasn't biked for more than 2 weeks! He says his muscles are starting to atrophy.  He coughs like crazy especially at night.  He says this is so terrible he doesn't know how anyone could stand to smoke.

This has been a long winter and we have had someone sick in the family since New Years!  Not an exaggeration!

Everyday Life

The purpose for making this blog is for me as a mom to remember what we have done as a family and the funny everyday moments of  life with a 4, 6, 12, and 15 year old.

Yesterday as we were driving to kindergarten Kyler said "Mom, I don't want to be a zoo keeper."I said, "okay." But that didn't seem to resolve it for Kyler.  He was still very concerned and said "but I don't want to have to be with animals."  I told him he would have to want to work at a zoo to get a job there and go to school to learn about animals to get a job there. And he wouldn't get a job at  a zoo unless he applied for a job there.  He was very relieved when I told him that.  He said "Good, then I'm going to be a construction worker."
Don't know why he thought he would have to work at a zoo!

Kyler also told me that he would like to be adopted or go to a babysitter.  Then he could be with other kids and have fun.  That made me feel really good as a mom!  I tried to explain to him that he was lucky that he had Talmage to play with and that other kids who have to go to a baby sitter sometimes wish that they could be at home.  I know he just  loves to play with other kids but he made me feel kind of sad.
